Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist

SUMMARY OF WORK:  Provide helpdesk support to employees by responding to technical questions/issues by phone, email, and in person. Support services will include VOIP phone system configuration and troubleshooting, software configuration and troubleshooting, hardware configuration and troubleshooting, new employee hardware and office configuration, performing end-user maintenance/upgrades, and performing network maintenance/upgrades in coordination with SEICAA’s COO and its contracted IT provider. Other responsibilities include: tracking inventory, basic training of users on software and hardware products, and compilation of records and reports related to IT environment. This position will focus on maintaining the overall stability of network & communication systems in order to support the daily operations of all SEICAA staff and work closely with SEICAA’s COO and its contracted IT provider to coordinate the progressive development & implementation of systems that will support operational requirements into the future.

 

JOB CHARACTERISTICS: This position will work closely with the Executive Director, Chief Operations Officer and other Management personnel to support Information, Communication and Security Systems necessary for the reliable and secure use of these systems throughout the organization.  This position is accountable for ensuring the continuity of computer services for computer users throughout the organization’s network through planning, technical leadership, and implementation of IT services/equipment necessary. Duties include: provide front-line support for staff, provide hardware and software support, configuration of new employee hardware and relevant systems, maintain directory systems and hardware as necessary. This position requires the ability to work independently, understand, analyze, and plan effective technology solutions to complex business and compliance problems.  Further, it requires the ability to implement and maintain these systems in a cohesive, integrated network environment.  Individual must possess strong organizational skills, superior communication and analytical skills, and substantial network and hardware knowledge necessary to accomplish the position’s requirements.  In addition, the individual must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality of sensitive personal information inherent to this position.
