Rocky Mountain Power is partnering with SouthEastern Idaho Community Action Agency and the Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership to provide a simple, convenient way for the utility’s Idaho customers to assist neighbors in need. Donation envelopes arrived in the February statements from Rocky Mountain Power and customers are urged participate.

Wendy Doughty is a single mother of three in Malad who benefitted from the program last year.

“It’s not like I sit at home and wait for people to help me,” Doughty said. “I work. I just don’t make enough to always pay my electric bill. It’s pretty awesome when this program can help; you pay what you can, and then they help with the rest.”

Originally from Louisiana, Doughty had never heard of Lend-a-Hand. “I was surprised,” she said. “I didn’t know there was anything like this.”
